We all know how exciting it can be to move to a new area and get that amazing apartment, however before you get trigger happy and start signing a lease without much thought, it is essential that you consider the location of your new apartment before you sign.

We know that this may seem a little obvious, however, you would be surprised how many people rent out new apartments because of cheap prices and decent accommodations without considering the area they will be living in!

Depending on what you are looking for, cheap apartments with great living spaces, may actually be counter productive.

Here’s the thing. If you are renting an apartment solely based off of price or facilities, you may be doing yourself a big disservice.

Will it require a 30-60 minute commute to work everyday? Are you near friends and family? How far are you from the local attractions?

Just because an apartment is inexpensive does not mean that it is a good deal.

It is key that you find an apartment that is close to your workplace and favorite social spots, otherwise, what you are saving on your apartment you will be spending on gas and precious time that you could have spent productively.

Even if you have to downsize or pay a little bit more for an apartment that is closer to work and friends, it will be worth it in the long run as it will save you time, money, and stress. And that is something you cannot put a price on.
